Welcome to “Penned by Jen!” My name is Jen and I used to focus writing for children, but current writing passion has led me in a new direction.  To learn more, checkout my blog–Torahscope.

I live in the San Francisco Bay Area with my newest housemate, Tovie, a Rhodesian Ridgeback. Her fancy name is “טוביה כל הזמן” (Toviyah Kol Hazman). You can follow Tovie’s adventures here. Sadly, Muffin, my feisty torbie passed away at in November 2022; she was 19.5 years old.

Lately, I’ve been doing a lot of WordPress development (debugging PHP/plugins and learning formidable). I enjoy walking Tovie and hiking. I hope to get back to running costume races and lifting weights. When time permits, I love to travel and learn languages. Currently, I’m studying both modern and biblical Hebrew.
